I tried it[Procite] and found it awkward, and seriously overpriced. I was therefore very happy to find Scholar's Aid. I've been extremely pleased with its performance. ---- Prof. Dr. LeBlanc, Canada. See more

Upgrade to Scholar's Aid 2000

Important Notes:

Because of some video cards, SA must use a newer comctl32.dll which is version 4.72 or later/greater. After installing SA2000L, if you do not see small icons(e.g., icons in Toolbar) in the program or if you see an abnormal display when you run SA2000L, you need to update comctl32.dll in the Windows\System directory. See how to check the version and how to install comctl32.dll.

If you are upgrading from a previous version, you should backup the database before you install this version. Otherwise, your data may be lost.
When you backup the data in SA98L or SA99-Library, use the "Tools|Backup data" menu OR copy all files in the "Library" folder and "MainData" folder. "SaveAs" is not a backup method.  It only duplicates the open library file that has only indexes.

Making Scholar's Aid 2000 Lite floppy diskettes
  1. Prepare three blank diskettes.
  2. Delete all files in a temporary folder and make sure there are no hidden files.
  3. Unzip janelite.zip into the temporary folder.
  4. Copy Disk3.id, _Setup.3, Readmel.txt to a blank floppy diskette and label it "Disk3."
  5. Copy Disk2.id, _Setup.2 to a blank floppy diskette and label it "Disk2."
  6. Copy the other files to another floppy diskette and label it "Disk1." Done.
  7. When you install Scholar's Aid from these diskettes, insert Disk1 into a floppy disk drive and run setup.exe
